Ads on ATM's
I guess its true what the say "people will put advertisements anywhere". Companies are now starting to put ads in ATM's as a way to gain consumers."The Finance Ministry has issued a notification allowing them to advertise either their own products and services or those of broking firms, mutual funds, insurance companies and pension funds on the ATM screen." This can either be a good idea or a bad idea because companies could benefit from putting ads on their ATM's because thousands of people use ATM's daily and this could boost company sales. On the other hand incorporating ads in ATM's could just get exceedingly annoying and will just be a distraction, which is basically the goal.
What A Save
This was one of the most creative and funniest ads I've ever seen that had me laughing nearly the entire time. A man was saved from a potential argument with his wife, thanks to people around the bar who acted as if they were different channels on the television and he was at home sick. I enjoyed the commercial because it demonstrated a funny and creative way to get out of something you really don't feel like doing, because I know we've all had our times. Captain Morgan usually always has creative yet funny ways to advertise their product, and even though this was an older commercial it still kept me laughing. Enjoy!

The New Nook!
With the new popularity that iPad and other electronic tablets have created its not a surprise why the new Nook Simple Touch tablet by Barnes & Noble is starting to catch consumer's eye. The new tablet claims to be better than the iPad in that its easy to make out and read outdoors and you can also use it in the dark with its new GlowLight technology, tagging it the most versatile e-reder that's ever been created. A couple other features of the new tablet are its paper thin and light frame for comfort and its long battery life that can last up to a whole month on just a single charge. Fantastic!

Angry Birds New Partnership
Angry Birds maker Rovio is teaming up with a major U.S. retail chain, which has not yet been announced, to put its branded toys, books and T-shirts in popular areas of thousands of stores nationwide, company's marketing chief announced on Tuesday. Since the launch of Angry Birds two years ago they have raised up to $9 Billion, went from 50 to 300 hundred workers, and have calculated that their game is played up to 300 million minutes a day. They claim it will be bigger than their current partnership with Barnes & Noble and will attract many more users worldwide. This is a bold step for them because the company was succeeding beyond what they expected and they were doing an astounding job before making the decision to get a new partner. Hopefully their predictions are true and they get bigger and better.

Ford Focus Park Assist
This Ford Focus advertisement is great because it shows off the unique feature of self parallel parking which I believe to be one of the greatest inventions ever. This ad appeared for European television so the license plates were European and the main person featured in the commercial was a minority. I enjoyed how the ad put emphasis on how easy the feature is used by showing him smiling and hands off the wheel. The music in the background was very subtle and relaxing which conveys the message of the ad that this car is different and will make your driving experience less stressful.
World in Your Hands
This is an intelligent advertisement for the new iPad. The idea of the commercial is that you could have the whole world in your hands with the new iPad that can do it all. The person on the commercial did everything from checking his email, to checking his daily schedule and used the map feature to find a location. They also started the commercial off by showing pictures as a way to demonstrate the improved pixel in-screen quality which the new iPad is known for. The purpose of the ad was to show how accessible and user-friendly the iPad could be. It shows its great versatility through the many features you have access to and a few are shown in the commercial.

Don't Be Stupid
These are creative and innovative advertisements for condmshop.com that explains the importance of condom use by using comedy and common sense for ways to persuade. The pictures show a combat squad and what seems to be a fire squad in action with a naked man in each picture. This simulates the importance of using protection and how it could possibly affect your life if its not used.

Dangers of Smoking
This is an advertisement in Germany against smoking and I thought it was a very smart and creative way to get the message across. The lungs are made so people can dispose their cigarettes after they have smoked them, while also displaying the possible dangers they can cause. If this doesn't make people stop smoking, I don't know what will.

Jeremy Lin Milkshake
The Jeremy Lin-Mint milkshake is the newest shake you can buy in New York City for the Shake Shack food-chain. Jeremy Lin has gained so much attention around the world for his brilliant play for the New York Knicks in the past two weeks. His overnight celebrity status has brought hope to people all over the world in more areas than just basketball because he climbed his way from an underdog to a leading scorer.
The ingredients of the shake contain chocolate and mint cookies blended with ice cream to make a delicious, minty beverage. The craze doesn't just stop at shakes, there are other items like the "Lin-burger" and "Lings" which are Asian-spiced wings. They have also gone as far to concoct a beverage called "Lintinis". He's become a houshold name around the world in just two weeks!
Using a celebrity like Jeremy Lin is a good idea because his name and reputation have become so popular. Advertising while using a celebrity is a good idea because everyone knows who that person is and wants to buy products that are associated with them.

It's Halftime America
"It's Halftime in America. And our second half is about to begin. All that matters now is looking ahead and finding a way forward."
I agree completely with what Clint said in this ad I truly believe America has had to endure so much in the last couple of years and I truly believe that this country will stand tall and be on its feet again and moving forward. Things may get worse in the next couple of years but a lot of times you have to hit rock bottom to bounce back and be at your best. This country has been through many hardships, one after the other, but we've always found a way to come back, never allowing ourselves to stay down. Clint was right, our second half is about to begin. This commercial reached all audiences because regardless of you politics beliefs people can agree that this is indeed America's halftime and we are ready to progress.
Watching this commercial gave me chills and I remember watching it a couple times the day after the Superbowl. It gives me hope and satisfaction and Clint Eastwood has always been a tough guy, definitely the right guy for the commercial.

Cure For Kirby

On Tuesday January 24, 2012, the Marquette Student Athlete Advisory Council also known as SAAC started the annual Cure for Kirby Fundraiser at halftime during the men's basketball game vs. USF. I thought it was an interesting and creative way to promote their cause and get a lot of people involved. MU athletics also tweeted about the cause in hopes of receiving donations from a variety of people. Marking using Twitter during a basketball game was a good idea because its a perfect situation to gather a group of people and express this cause.
The last method of promotion they used was handing out purple shirts to student-athletes to wear the displayed the cure for Kirby and all had contact information for people interested in donating. As fans left the game they were handed a piece of paper to make a donation. I even have my shirt on today!!!
